What makes homemade soap different from store-bought?

Homemade soap is about getting back to the natural in life. Commercial soaps are often detergent-based (yes, like the laundry soap!) and contain many chemical ingredients in order to lengthen shelf-life and produce a cheaper product in order to increase the big-company profits. Part of making a cheaper product includes stripping the glycerin out of their soap, and since glycerin is an awesome humectant (draws moisture to the skin), there is no excuse for ditching such an incredible ingredient, except greed! The commercial soap company then re-sells the glycerin as a by-product instead re-incorporating it into their soap like a quality soapmaker would. In addition, they have to replace all that lost soap with something, and in this case, it's nasty chemicals and detergents that they pump back into your soap. I like to compare commercially-made soap to junk-food for the skin. It may "appear" to be a great product, but one look at the label says it's not good for you in the long run!

Another fantastic benefit is hand-crafted soaps aren't mass-produced in some factory overseas, they're made right here at home, with a skilled-craftsman (or woman in this case!) overseeing each step of the process to ensure that your soap is the of the best quality on the market.

And of course, once you dispose of all those nasty chemicals, guess what's left? A great fragrance, of course. We believe our soap to be some of the most fragrant available, and our customers agree!

We guarantee you'll notice a difference when switching from commercially-produced soap to ours, and we're so confident in our products, that we offer a money-back guarantee if you don't notice softer more healthy-looking skin after a week of using our hand-crafted soap!

I have super sensitive skin, will your soap irritate my skin? 

I'm glad you asked! Our handmade soaps start with a very natural vegetable base that is hypo-allergenic, non-comedogenic (won't clog pores) and meets vegan guidelines, so the likelihood of any irritation is greatly reduced. I do add fragrance oil and colorants to many of my soaps, but not all. We've found that most people, even with the most sensitive of skin types, are able to use our soaps without any adverse effects. In fact, even those of us with easily irritated skin have been able to use and enjoy the colored and fragranced soaps we make available. Many of our soaps do contain fragrance oil and some colorants, but not all...so if you're truly concerned about skin sensitivities, we reccomend trying our Oatmeal, Milk and Honey or Shea Butter Soap varieties, as they contain no fragrance oils or artificial colorants, and are safe for even the most sensitive skin!
